Red Tape, the international footwear brand of, Rs. 220 crore, Kanpur-based leather major Mirza International, has decided to ride the retail boom.
The company, which recently opened its 25th lifestyle store at Kanpur, the first in the city, will open 25 more stores in the next two months. These stores beside footwear offer a large number of accessories like T-shirts, denim jeans, wallets, and belts. Red Tape is also planning to soon launch footwear for women and apparel for men and women.
Taking a leaf out of the books of its counterparts like Reebok, Mirza International wants to eventually increase the number of such stores to 300.
By following the franchisee model, the firm has managed to keep its investment in fixed assets low. Its investment is mainly going to be in the form of inventories, reports Business Standard.
