Oswal plans third retail brand; to ramp up retail business 10 fold

oswal_logoThe women’s innerwear brand “Straps” (earlier known as ‘Sensa’) and casual wear brand “AO’S” owned by Oswal Retail, a part of the 40 years old, Ludhiana based, textile yarns major, Oswal group, are expected to clock revenues of Rs. 15 crore and Rs. 10 crore respectively, this year.

As a part of its strategy to ramp up retail business, the group is looking at adding third retail brand, in the next few months, to the existing tally of two brands, according to the Economic Times .

Like Straps, which has pan India presence, AO’s- essential a north Indian brand, is also planning to spread its wings across the nation by mid 2007.

Given aggressive retail expansion plans over the next two years, the group expects the retail business to grow fro present Rs. 25 crore to Rs. 250 crore by fiscal 2010.
